Programs and Initiatives

 

Brighter Futures Scholarship Program 

Named Scholarships of $15,000 or more

Allows partners who contribute $15,000 or more to give a named scholarship to a deserving student on each of the 15 VFIC member campuses.  Brighter Futures Scholarship brochure (pdf)

 

Affiliate Scholarship Program

Named Scholarships of $5,000 or more

Affiliate scholarships begin at the $5,000 level and allow partners to direct their financial aid to deserving students at specific VFIC member campuses selected by the donor. Affiliate Scholarship brochure (pdf)

 

Regional Scholarship Program

Scholarships designated for students from the following regions:

  • Statewide - Virginia Scholars Fund

Undergraduate Research

Enables partners to support students engaged in scholarly 10-week summer research program with faculty mentors.  Undergraduate Research Program brochure (pdf)

 

Library Enhancement

Support helps to build member colleges' library collections

 

Ethics Bowl

Allows partners to support ethical education and programming, including the VFIC's signature event - The Ethics Bowl - which features student teams from all 15 colleges in debate competitions on case studies in applied ethics. Program from the 2006 Ethics Bowl (pdf)

VFIC Partners have the opportunity to direct their support to other VFIC programs of their choosing.
