Brighter Futures Scholarship Program
Named Scholarships of $15,000 or more
Student Studying
Allows partners who contribute $15,000 or more to give a named scholarship to a deserving student on each of the 15 VFIC member campuses.

 

Affiliate Scholarship Program
Named Scholarships of $5,000 or more
Class studying outside
Affiliate scholarships begin at the $5,000 level and allow partners to direct their financial aid to deserving students at specific VFIC member campuses selected by the donor.

 

Regional Scholarship Program
Scholarships designated for students from the following regions:

Greater Lynchburg
Greater Richmond
Hampton Roads
Northern Virginia
Roanoke/Southwest Virginia
Virginia Scholars Fund (statewide)

 

Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate Research
Supports undergraduate summer science research working one-on-one with college professors.

 

Library Enhancement

Library at W&L

Support helps to build member colleges' library collections and assisting with technology based resources for libraries.

 

Ethics Bowl

SBC discussing response

Allows partners to support ethical education and programming, including the VFIC's signature event - The Ethics Bowl - which features student teams from all 15 colleges in debate competitions on case studies in applied ethics.  More information.

VFIC Partners have the opportunity to direct their support to other VFIC programs of their choosing.  Please designate.

Above: Bill Quillian (left), President Emeritus of Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Mrs. Booth widow of Lea Booth (who served as Executive Director of the VFIC from 1953-1983) and Mike Maxey, president of Roanoke College. Dr. Quillian, served as an active member of the VFIC Board from 1952-1978 and was elected VFIC Honorary-Life Trustee in 1979.
