A first-generation college student from Salem, Va., Adriana found her academic home at Hollins University after transferring from a nursing program. Double majoring in history and Spanish, she’s turned her passion for research into an award-nominated honors thesis exploring the Bracero program during WWII. From creating bilingual book collections as a library intern to teaching Spanish to 180 students, Adriana is using her talents to uplift her community—and plans to continue doing so through graduate studies and immigration advocacy.
