Student Highlight
Passionate about inclusion and community, Julia Bassett founded MAPLES (Multiple Adaptive Play Experiences in Sports), a program offering open gym hours for individuals with disabilities—from ages 3 to 70—to engage in adaptive sports and connect with peers. Julia’s impact extends beyond MAPLES. She conducted research in psychology, served as captain of the women’s tennis team, and graduated as co-valedictorian. Her next step is the Radford-Carilion’s Occupational Therapy Program in fall 2025 to continue her dedication to helping others.
