Leandro Laperne, a Bonner and Johnson Scholar at Washington and Lee University, recently participated in the American Enterprise Institute’s (AEI) 2025 Summer Honors program in Washington, D.C., where he studied the complexities of the welfare system and poverty policy in the United States. A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Laperne intends to major in physics and sociology with a minor in poverty and human capability studies.
